GoDaddy has removed the option to contact the owner of a domain via its WHOIS, if you’re interested in buying it.
When looking up domain names registered at GoDaddy, you can see underlying Registry data, contact the domain holder, or report an invalid WHOIS.
When clicking on the option to contact the domain holder (registrant,) the form containing options available has now changed.
There’s no explicit option to inquire about buying the domain from the domain holder as before, and there is a new option that says “research or other purpose.”
According to domain investor, Abdu Tarabichi, that’s an indication of GoDaddy pushing its domain acquisition service, which increased in price from $69 to $119 dollars not too long ago.
