US Marines ready to fight over Finnish domain

US Marines ready to board a plane and invade Finland.

The US Marines, known for their fierce battling of all enemies are having some serious trouble with the biggest enemy of the state: bureaucrats.

“Our motto, Semper Fi, is an important statement that is linked to the pride and efficiency of the US Marine Corps, said Sergeant Major Ted McTardy of the US Marines.

“The US Marines are striving to be the very best – always faithful, is what we stand for”.

The IT department of the US Marines approached the owners of Semper.fi – the ccTLD being that of Finland.

“We thought it’d make perfect sense to own that domain, it’s the absolute shortest URL to have. My boys at the IT department call it a “hack”. I don’t give a damn what it’s called, we will be getting it or we’ll send in a marine platoon to take over Finland!”, said Sergeant Major Ted McTardy.

US Marines tried to invade Sweden in the 70's without success.

Meanwhile, the Finnish company that owns Semper.fi is sending taunting messages to the US Marines, reminding them of how the Finnish military butchered the Soviet army that invaded Finland in 1939.

Nowadays it’s not just corporations that fight for domain space, it seems that the involvement of the military will add further controversy to the online war of domains.
