Most savvy domain investors stay away from those fancy-schmancy new gTLDs, and it’s common knowledge in the domain community that only pansies register them.
After 18 months of operation, there are probably only a handful of active gTLD domains and most likely no more than 10 thousand gTLD domains altogether.
That’s a sign of suckiness right there, and it’s not to be disputed ever. The domainer’s Bible begins and ends with a dot .com.
But don’t take our word for it: If you want more reasons why this is a fact, here are 10 reasons why gTLDs truly suck bad.
- gTLD domains are not .com.
- Nobody understands anything other than .com
- Dot .com is the best, even Rick Schwartz parks his Rick.co domain.
- You can still find great .com domains, such as TotalControlMediaPower.com, so why register a shorter gTLD?
- Only pansies like gTLDs. It’s a fact. Can’t dispute that.
- Frank Schilling, Paul Stahura, and other gTLD operators don’t know a damn thing about domain names.
- Who cares if Banks are changing to the dot .BANK gTLD soon, nobody will believe them.
- It’s a fact that ntldstats only posts bogus data to promote gTLDs that don’t exist.
- Remember “The Net” movie? In 1995 they advertised .WRLD which means gTLDs are purely fictional.
- ICANN just wants our money and created “mickey mouse” TLDs to confuse the general public.
So that settles the argument of domain suckiness once and for all.

What a stupid post. Frank Schilling don’t know a damn thing about domain names ?
He is the most clever domain investor of all-times and the most successful …
And .COM is our granfather extension. The newbies coming to internet don´t even know .COM
and for sure they will prefer something like “Net.work” over a dinosaurus like
TotalControlMediaPower.com
Bill – Are you disputing all these 10 facts? Or that .com is KING? If you do, then I feel sorry for you, the list is solid facts.
Great post, we can add on. Like ICANN predicting 33 million and only getting 6, failing to meet expectations big time. Or every operator of a new gtld that made a prediction, don’t remember one meeting it. Or the lack of sales and low reg numbers. You’re right, they do truly suck but it keeps the newbies occupied while others buy the good domains.
I dispute your entire list …
Where do you see solid facts ?
The new gTLDs are only 1 year old and we alredy seen some 6 figures sales.
The first 6 figures sale of a .COM was 15 years after launching … so they just need some time and youll see …
Rick Schwartz is one of most brilliant domain investor but he is an old school domainer as most of those who
are active on the market right now. New domainers won´t have the same approach to .COM
Year by year the number of people connecting to internet via mobile devices grows and for this technology
shorter domains are better. “Sex.cam” will be much better than “SexCam.com” (3 letter shorter and look better).
“Nobody understands anything other than .com” *** YET
Once again we are talking about people that born a had around the .COM
extension for years. It won´t be the same with the new generations coming
to internet. Anyway I believe that in 10-15 years the blockchain technology will
change the way internet is build today so is possible that domain names
(as we know them today) will disappear.
Jonathan – Took 25 years for .com to get to these numbers. So apples and oranges. But surely domainers like Mike Berkens and others are wrong investing not only in gTLDs, but in businesses formed around an expanded name space.
Love the satire!!

pansy in training 🙂
I’m not sure which is more hilarious – the obviously satirical post or the comments from “bill”, whose panties are obviously all bunched up because he doesn’t get it…
Hey my cousin is a Gtld

Bill ……..look up satire in the dictionary
lol
I love that Bill is outraged with this post!
TotalControlMediaPower.com is a pigeon shit name! Do you agree Rick Schwartz ?
Media.Power is an excellent name if there is .power extension……
