The .XXX color of money!
The current count for .XXX domains – according to top domain tool, ZFBot – stands at 101,089.
While this includes a substantial number of so-called “defensive registrations“, one thing is certain: ICANN hasn’t been made much richer yet.
ICANN charges $2 a pop for .XXX domain registrations and that means only $202,178 have gone into the ICANN cash machine since the .XXX launch.
That’s hardly chump change for the corporation that pampers its members with “Club Med” style vacations around the world every year!
The key will be how many registrations after the first renewal period. .XXX is here to stay no doubt. As a parent I wish all porn were forced to to use the tld to make it easier to protect my children. For me personally I don’t give a shit about any of it. I feel much more comfortable selling the name fuckahorse.xxx than I do showing videos of it actually happening. .xxx will stay the headline until a better headline comes out.
