Acquire.com was NOT sold for $2,000,000 dollars

Update: The domain name Acquire.com was sold for $200,000 dollars. Its CEO pulled an “Elon” and added an extra zero, per the original tweet, “for fun.”

It’s unfortunate that such a statement hurts the brand’s credibility.

Original article follows:

The domain name Acquire.com was sold for $2,000,000 dollars by its owner.

According to Andrew Gazdecki, CEO of MicroAcquire, the company paid two million dollars for this premium domain name.

The price was disclosed via Twitter:

Spending two big ones to upgrade the brand from MicroAcquire to Acquire seems like a fair amount.

MicroAcquire has also filed for the registration of the matching trademark, ACQUIRE.COM; its CEO has asked Elon Musk to let the company have the Twitter handle, @acquire, which has been suspended.
