The Irish superband, U2, will be among the top performers during the highly acclaimed ICANN51 ‘gala‘ in Los Angeles, California.
ICANN president and CEO, Fadi Chehadé, announced the inclusion of U2 among other top celebrities to be performing.
“As a manifestation of the multi-stakeholder model, we welcome and support U2 as a top performing band,” said Fadi Chehadé.
“We will be keeping entertainment budgets low this year, so the U2 will perform for free during ICANN51; not a big deal to them, as they already shared their entire album with the world, without charging a single cent,” added Chehadé.
Two other artists expected to perform during ICANN51 include Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, both of which will actually pay a hefty fee in order to be listened to.
ICANN51 opens its gates on October 12th, with or without you.
I thought ICANN had a rule against two-character band names.
