Domain marketplace, Atom.com, announced that it has acquired the status of an ICANN-accredited registrar.
The accreditation opens a new chapter in the company’s growth that rebranded from Squadhelp a little over a year ago.
The company’s public-facing registrar is not ready, however; the accreditation signifies the green light for Atom to begin work on its project, powered by AI. While there’s a lot of work ahead, Atom promises to deliver big results for domain investors and domain buyers alike:
- Domain investors will gain access to advanced tools to improve discovery and boost sell-through rates, with AI agents helping pinpoint and acquire expiring domains more precisely. In a move to reward community participation, the Atom.com platform will also share a portion of auction revenue when domains expire and are sold.
- Meanwhile, domain buyers can expect a more robust experience that goes well beyond acquiring a name. The platform will offer a complete branding toolkit, including logo design, audience testing, trademark support, and brand monitoring, positioned as a cost-effective, intuitive ecosystem built to bring new brands to life with ease and creativity.
Such a development places Atom.com in direct, fierce competition with GoDaddy—also a domain registrar with an established domain aftermarket.
Competition is good for the industry. Read the full press release from Atom.com.
