In a case of “David against Goliath” that we covered a few months ago, the owner of the domain name Gaijin.com surely has reasons to celebrate.
Gaijin Entertainment Corporation, a producer of games software based in Russia, attempted to wrestle the domain name, Gaijin.com, from Brandon Harris, who hand-registered it in 1995.
Harris openly crossed swords with the Russian Goliath, and it appears that his efforts and those of his legal team were met with success.
The case “D2013-1723” at the USPTO has been marked as “Terminated“, which indicates that private communications between the Complainant and the Respondent have led to an agreement.
While this *could* be an indication of agreeing to sell the domain, typically this type of decision is caused by the Complainant’s re-evaluation of their strategy. In other words, Gaijin Entertainment most likely surrendered interest in the domain name, Gaijin.com.
