Former Pope Benedict XVI is now “pontiff emeritus“, having retired on Vatican grounds as of yesterday.
The Pope’s twitter account has been blanked out as well; not that he had that many tweets, but with 1.6 million followers it paled in comparison to Justin Bieber’s 35 million.
In December 2011, the Vatican denied allegations that they had registered the domain name Vatican.xxx.
The domain was in fact reserved by the ICM Registry, and it still remains reserved – so don’t expect to see it in the weekly .XXX sales being reported by the ICM Registry.
Meanwhile, Pontifex.xxx is still available to register; despite the trailing four ‘X’s it could be appropriate for reporting on scandalous events allegedly occuring within the low-lit Vatican hallways.
