Afternic has sold the aged (1996) domain name, MerinoWool.com, to entrepreneur Jake Nomada.
Merino wool is a premium quality wool from the Merino sheep breed:
“The Merino is one of the most historically relevant and economically influential breeds of sheep, much prized for its wool. The breed was originated and improved in Extremadura, in southwestern Spain, around the 12th century.”
The Nomadic Hustle founder spent $6,780 dollars to acquire the domain, which was previously sold at SnapNames in 2006, for $3,203 dollars.
In other words, the seller doubled his money over the course of 14 years.
Nomada plans to develop the domain before attempting to sell it on a marketplace such as Sedo.
Meanwhile, the domain Merino.com is owned by the Australian Wool Innovation Ltd that also operate Wool.com.
