DNProtect, one of Epik‘s brands, has been terminated.
Operating from the domain DNProtect.com, the company offered services related to cybersecurity. It also used a DNProtect algorithm to gauge a domain’s potential vulnerability to cyberthreats.
That score wasn’t private, however; the DNProtect scores of domains looked up via the service were open to the public and viewed on the internet. One could think that a service gauging the alleged vulnerability of domain names would not reveal those issues to the entire internet. As the service has been terminated, the DNProtect scores cannot be viewed.
The company also claimed to offer support related to domain theft in cooperation with Epik’s escrow services.
SEO guru Bill Hartzer created DNProtect in 2020, on a domain sold by domain investor and popular blogger, Raymond Hackney. That sale took place in Sedo in late 2019. The service was picked up by Epik under a private agreement. Bill Hartzer is no longer associated with DNProtect or its services.
In recent months, Epik has been under fire for failing to pay out balances for escrow transactions that it handled, converting them to Masterbucks that cannot be converted back to real money currently. In one such case, the sale of Candida.com for $100,000 dollars resulted in a public video message of plea by the domain’s unpaid seller.
I lost 300,000 from them. BILL Hartzer is a douche. He hung up the phone on me! In the words of Taylor Swift, karma is my best friend.
