Father Domainicus – A eulogy for Steve Jobs

Father Domainicus eulogizes Steve Jobs.

Greetings, my domainer children. This is Father Domainicus on a special sermon this fine Sunday evening.

As you many know, Steve Jobs passed away a few days ago, leaving behind a gap in the world of creative geniuses.

Millions of users of iPods, iPhones, iPads and the macintosh range of personal computers are deeply saddened by his untimely demise.

And that’s the message I will attempt to convey today, my brothers and sisters in domaining: life is short, art is long.

When you create, you prolong life by extending your own image. When you create, you become the inheritor of yourself, onto others.

In a similar fashion, when you develop your domain names into web sites, your art is delivered around the world.

Just like Steve Jobs, one should refrain from the complex pleasures of daily life.

Steve Jobs lived practically a Japanese, minimalistic lifestyle. That’s why he created such masterpieces as the Apple range of computers and the rest of the electronic gadgets that occupy the landfills of the world’s poor countries with every new version release.

True geniuses like Steve Jobs follow their dreams and create a small or bigger dent in the universe. It does not hurt to think big and to create monumental web projects from your humblest of domains.

That’s the word of our Domain Lord, naturally.

With deep respect to your personal space, I kiss you on both cheeks.
~Father Domainicus.
