Greetings and salutations, my brothers and sisters in domaining; this is Father Domainicus on this fine chilly morning in Florida. What a great day to be alive.
As reported yesterday, the benevolent Minds+Machines split its operations and divided the assets among two key players, Uniregistrar and Nominet.
Setting aside the initial phlegmatic response full of anathema, I delved into the intricacies of this seemingly satanic congregation among domain industry peers.
Many a domain investor hopeful spent their shekels on the new gTLDs, a Promised Land filled with joy and jubilation for our Domain Lord.
Alas, the satanical intervention of the Machine into the Garden of Eden, procured the Mind of humans to commit sinful acts, full of uncouth pleasures.
And now, those men and women are crying in agony and pain:
Oh, Machine, you have forsaken us! Oh, Machine, thou casteth pain upon our Minds! Oh, Machine, our days on this earth are numbered!
Do not despair, oh ye faithful, I say, in my loudest of voices!
It is from the ocean of agony and pain, from chaos and destruction that many a great epos is created. For unlike the Machine, the Mind is indestructible, unlike the Machine, the Mind is eternal and forever shall live.
Without doubt, my domaining children, Brother Frank at Uniregistrar is well-aware of your perils and he will take you under his fathering wings. There shall be no orphaned gTLDs, or lost domains, and you should continue to enjoy the benefits of our Domain Church. Brother Frank’s ascension to sanctimonious levels is reminiscent of St. Pancras in his younger days, blessed be His Name.
And even the pious people of Nominet will offer food and water, and a place for your domain investments to rest and subsequently flourish.
It is heart-wrenching to see the Minds+Machines separate, but the Mind shall be separate from the Machine, before all time, for now and forever, amen.
May the Domain Lord bring happiness to your hearts and a steady flow of shekels to your fanny-pack.
~Father Domainicus.
