It took a damn decade for Disney and Pixar to come to their senses; after milking the ‘Finding Nemo‘ franchise for all that it’s worth – and it’s worth billions – they finally announced the sequel: Finding Dory.
The Pixar movie will be released to theaters in November 2015, just enough time away for Disney to develop FindingDory.com
Except, they’ll have to fight to get it via a UDRP, most likely.
The domain name, FindingDory.com was registered at GoDaddy in January 2012; apparently not too long after after the working title of ‘Nemo 2‘ was leaked to the Internet Movie Database charts, last year.
While FindingDory.com is in redemption period, the .net, .org and .info were just registered, apparently by domain squatting idiots that aren’t aware just how far Disney’s legal arm can reach.
Disney owns FindingNemo2.com, .net and .org – the .com for a decade at least.
Will Disney wait until someone grabs FindingDory.com at the time it drops in order to hit them with a UDRP, or will they bid for the domain along with others?
Watch out for a ‘pixar‘ handle, at the usual places. 😀
