The UDRP for the domain name Stihl.CEO has ended with an order to be transferred to the Complainant.
According to the Respondent, Andrew Davis of Port of Spain, Stihl.CEO was registered among other first and last names in the .CEO realm, such as James.CEO, Andrew.CEO and Smith.CEO.
The Respondent alleged that the Stihl brand and mark is “common” and also a German surname.
Unfortunately, Stihl is also a very well known brand of yardwork equipment, such as chainsaws, leaf blowers and the like, and an established trademark.
The company, Stihl, operates in several countries around the world, and online from Stihl.com and StihlUSA.com and owns patents and international trademarks going as far back as 1968.
The sole panelist, James A. Barker, decided that there was sufficient satisfaction of the three rules of the UDRP policy, and ordered the domain transferred.
