Operating an ICANN-accredited domain registrar in Greece, puts a lot of weight on the shoulders of Papaki.

Operating from and, the Greek domain registrar was founded in 2004 in Crete, Greece, by Dimitris Anthoulakis, Aggela Anthoulaki and Frank Maounis.

In 2009, it became the top domain registrar for .GR and .EU domains in Greece.

Papaki means “little duck” in Greek, and it’s synonymous with the “@” symbol used in email and social media profiles, since the early days of the Greek Internet. Someone had the bright idea that the “at” symbol resembles a duckling. 😀
