The domain name Dildo.com was sold via the Sedo marketplace, for the sum of $65,000 dollars. This stout adult domain name registered in 1995, most likely ended up in the hands of the operators of Gspot.com, another great adult domain name.
If you’re offended by adult domain names, here’s a quick note: Legal adult content such as XXX videos and images, along with live performances, drives a chunky portion of the internet since its commercial beginning in the 1990s.
It comes as no surprise that established adult content operators would buy a domain such as Dildo.com in the aftermarket, when the price is right, to use it with white label, adult content providers.
Gspot.com appears to have been acquired by the same entity in 2006, after its original registrant sold it for an undisclosed amount. Perhaps pre-emptively, the company registered BigDildoes.com in 2021, prior to grabbing Dildo.com from Sedo.
