Last year, Rick Schwartz made headlines via Daniel Negari’s tweet about “cherry-popping”; the Domain King had just registered the domain Unethical.XYZ.
The .XYZ registration was not the only one Rick Schwartz made at the time, but he kept the rest of his registrations private.
Earlier, in a DomainSherpa video, Rick expressed his disagreement with how free .XYZ robo-registrations via Network Solutions should be counted.
Currently, it seems that the domain Unethical.XYZ has expired, as the lander shows; we were made aware of its status by domain investor and Domainsville founder, Abdu Tarabichi.
XYZ registration numbers appear to be declining, one year after the launch of the controversial gTLD. However, there is a debate about the accuracy of the stats, as discussed at NamePros.
Rick Schwartz might be retired from public domain “duty”, but he recently acquired the domain name Cybersquatter.com on Flippa.
