Mars Incorporated is a huge brand holder, with dozens of products, including food for people and pets, and cosmetics.
Mars owns a bunch of super high quality domains, and to begin with they operate from Mars.com.
It seems they dropped the ball on Aquarian.com, a domain registered in 1999 originally, and maintained by them since. The domain expired, then dropped, and it’s being auctioned on DropCatch.
Not only is Aquarian a registered trademark and brand for fish products, it’s also a trademark for other products and other companies as well. Mars Incorporated might have dropped the .com but its brand continues from the matching .co.uk.
Mars owns more than 4,200 domains in a large number of TLDs and ccTLDs for its products. Some important domain names include the following:
Mars.com
Banfield.com
Cesar.com
Pedigree.com
Nutro.com
Sheba.com
VCA.com
Whistle.com
Altoids.com
Combos.com
Doublemint.com
Dove.com
Twix.com
Considering how “aquarian” is not a dictionary word, but a fanciful mark, it’s quite possible that Mars Incorporated might seek to recover this domain name via the UDRP process.
Update 4/29/2020 : Aquarian.com was sold for $14,123 dollars.
Aquarian is actually a dictionary word — means someone born under the sign of Aquarius. But they’ll surely try to recover it, of course.
