Microsoft + GoDaddy = Payments via Microsoft Teams

GoDaddy announced its collaboration with Microsoft, offering users of Microsoft Teams the ability to utilize GoDaddy Payments.

GoDaddy Payments charges a 2.3% fee plus 30 cents per online transaction. Is it truly the cheapest solution and are other processors really costing merchants up to 20% in fees as GoDaddy claims?

For example, Clover charges 2.3% + 10 cents per transaction, while Stripe charges 2.9% + 30 cents. It seems that most payment processors charge fees below 3.5% for online transactions. Do your own research!

Osama Bedier, President of GoDaddy Commerce, said:

“We’ve been busy building out our commerce platform to enable small businesses to accept payments anywhere, so this expansion to Teams’ meetings is a natural extension of that. We share a passion with Microsoft for empowering small business and are excited about partnering to help entrepreneurs transact in new ways. Microsoft Teams is just the start.”

The integration of GoDaddy Payments will be available within Microsoft Teams in the coming weeks.

Brenna Robinson, GM for SMBs, Modern Work at Microsoft, said:

“Over 300 million people rely on Teams every month to stay productive and connected. We wanted to pull in the leaders in commerce to help make it easier for small businesses to get paid for their virtual services—GoDaddy has a very strong reputation with SMBs and gives us an opportunity to extend our great partnership with them. This payments integration is an exciting new growth opportunity for small businesses.”
