Motorola: Time-Traveler in Charlie Chaplin’s movie used our cellphone!

There is a lot of speculation over the origin of a supposed “time traveler” in one of Charlie Chaplin’s famous movies, “The Circus“.

The woman – or man in drag – in the 1928 black and white classic has many alleging that she is holding a cellphone; an anachronism, as cellphones did not exist at that time.

Odd as it might seem, an owner of the DVD of the movie spotted the peculiar behavior and has posted a video on YouTube that it’s about to go viral.

However, we thought it’d be fun if a major cellphone maker such as Motorola adopted the image and seized the opportunity to create an ad campaign 😀

Here’s our version, click on the image for a larger ad.

I hear Motorola invented domain names back in 1928 as well.

On another note, it’s not a coincidence that Motorola was founded in 1928 😀
