On Friday we explained that the new Sedo fee schedule for auctions and sales is a business decision.
As such, domainers that resent the fee hike can also make their own business decision and utilize other venues to sell their domains.
Adam Dicker’s ShowcaseManager.com is one such sales platform, offering zero commission with a membership. There’s also CAX.com by Francois Carrillo and Boxcar.
All of those venues offer a very low sales cost for the type and amount of exposure, compared to Sedo’s gigantic marketplace that seems to be geared towards domainers or expert end-user buyers.
Don’t forget there’s also Afternic and BuyDomains.

DG–you need to support Sedo’s move to increase the fees because Germany SEDO is supporting your Greece’s bailout!!!
Sedo sucks! This new increase will make people leave en masse.
BullS – That’s BS.
Savant – Which alternative will you be using?
i have already removed 4000 domains and requested closure of my 6 year old account
dnforum memners alonecould make sedo stand to lose a millionm domains from their ‘inventory’ overnight
lets take the german suckers down!
any domainer who doesnt have a dedicated sales site of their own is a fool and lazy
deal with your enquiries, then you can see WHO is enquiring and price accordingly
theres so many rerasons NOT to use sedo and so few reasons to use
why would you direct an enduser enquiry from your domain to a link to sedo that ontroduces them to millions of other domains to choose from!
madness
the hun will go down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucius—Do I ever BS? You hurt my feeling.
The reason for the 5% increase is clearly based on the fact that in less than 2 years from now the sales of .com domains that are not single high-end words like business.com will be worthless. But whom am I? If you believe for one moment that even domains like DomainName.com is worth more than Domain.Name even right as this moment, then you might as well start a new line of work or learn something new for a change. Sedo is a scam, Google runs the internet, you should know that by now.
hey Mike – Some bold statements there, my friend. Sedo a scam? Definitely not. Domains that aren’t single words will be worthless in less than 2 years? That means a domainer’s bible will be the dictionary. Unless you already have the 2013 almanac please don’t say such nonsense.
Sedo cancelled my parking commission with no explanation. So move all my domains to bodis.com. Best decision I ever made. Far simpler to administer, better position in search engines and higher earnings. I am also fed up with number of useless offers made via Sedo. And the auctions don’t work either.
