A crucial point has been reached, with many URL shorteners competing against each other.
The URL shortener model is also non-profitable, although at some point in the future one might expect a “jump page” ad to be interleaved prior to the intended web site.
A new start-up from the San Fransisco Bay is about to change the URL shortener paradigm.
“We’ve been following the situation as it unfolds, first was x.co and now t.co and there’s bit.ly and so many others”, said Frankie Jollie of NomNom Pow, the URL shortener start-up.
“So we are taking this to the next level, with a URL shortening service that uses no typing whatsoever. The user speaks the URL into their microphone and it’s stored as an extremely compressed sonopixel(tm) that can interact with the Internet.”
Using the sonopixel(tm) mechanism a user can simply yell, scream, cough or even belch the URL of their choice, without worrying about how it will be replayed.
The NomNom Pow product is a remarkable leap forward and will be available in late August to select beta groups.
