Owdy is yet another social media network created on dot .CO somewhere in the midwest, we reckon.
According to the web site on Owdy.co, here’s the profile of the up and coming heir to the Facebook throne:
“Owdy is a bleeding edge groundbreaking, paradigm-shifting, next-level social network game changer built on the premise of synergistic user-centric arrogancy. Owdy knows you don’t give a shit about what your friends post, so Owdy doesn’t let content get in the way of what truly makes for a good social experience: rushing to get your username before everybody else and re-defining who your friends are. Don’t have any friends? No problem – OWDY is the only social network that lets you friend yourself!”
Promising to deliver “something amazeballs“, Owdy.co is of course a spoof social media network, a parody of the recent launch of Ello.co – another manifestation on dot .CO domains. The domain Owdy.co was registered on September 29, according to DomainTools.
One can tinker with the contact form and be told that the invite code was incorrect, because “we were not cool enough” to be invited. Hardy har har.
Overall, a great little time-waster on a Friday afternoon! 😀
Edit: Is it a spoof or not? We are not sure. But it’s most likely YASE (Yet Another Social Experiment.)
It actually lets you create an account if you know the invite code. There’s lots of people who are inviting friends. http://owdy.co/users/
whoops. remove the trailing slash on that last comment.
Ryan – Send me an invite then, bro! 😀
