A few days ago we posted about the spamming outfit behind the email notices titled “Domain Notification: This is your final notice of domain listing”.
These morons systematically send out hundreds of thousands of emails, attempting to fool domain owners that somehow their spam is related to domain renewals.
Upon careful examination of the email headers, which matched that of other recipients of the email, it’s clear that the “bulletproof” hosting outfit that provides those spammers with an identity cover is the domain PrivateDNS.com, that appears to be based in Canada.
According to the WHOIS:
Organisation Name…. Private DNS Group Inc.
Organisation Address. 5945 Boul Couture
Organisation Address.
Organisation Address. St-Leonard
Organisation Address. H1P 1A8
Organisation Address. QC
Organisation Address. CANADA
Admin Phone………. 514-286-4242
Admin Fax………… 514-286-1292
At an era when federal agents of the ICE team seize the domains of scamming organizations, it’s about time to dip into Canada, eh?
ICE is not going to do anything unless big companies bitch about it.
I get hundreds of email from those people, also I was posting very important information here about another BIG SCAM to stolen domains but I get a message saying my comment was spammy, if you are interested on getting that information contact me by email. (I’M not a spammer at all).
Hey Mike – sometimes posting links in comments blocks them automatically.
BullS – We are bitching alright 🙂
Lucius— YOU have to bitch with $$$$$ to get attention.
I know about that 🙂 the point is that to give the entire information to people to be aware of this scam I’M forced to post links, again if you are interested send me an email and I will forward all information to post.
PrivateDNS.com = control panel domain for hosting company iWeb.com
iWeb hosts around 15,000 dedicated servers which many are configured with reverse dns using the privatedns.com domain. They also have 20,000+ shared hosting customers using the privatedns name servers and privatedns.com linked shared hosting servers. If you receive spam that appears to be sent from iWeb’s network you should report it to abuse@iweb.com so they can take action.
Martin – And these are the perils of shared IP hosting. Investigate your clients, the IP has already been posted by several people: cl-t164-232cl.privatedns.com
I have recently become innovated with Portuguese SPAM that clearly has been sent by iWeb servers. Each and every one of the nearly 500 messages have been forwarded to them as complaints and they have done *absolutely nothing* about it. In fact, they have recently stopped accepting reports from my email address. These guys are the SPAM friendliest ISP I have ever encountered.
That last comment should have read inundated, not “innovated”.
