Pyramid.com, the 29th oldest .com domain name ever to be registered, has changed hands.
The sale was facilitated by the Buy Quality Domain Names brokerage (BQDN.)
Said James Booth, founder of BQDN.com on social media platforms:
Successfully Sold : Pyramid.com The 29th registered domain name. Congratulations to buyer and seller!
The domain Pyramid.com is remarkably old, only 28 .com domains are older!
Registered on October 18, 1986, it’s older than 99.99999979432624113% of all .com domains in existence!
Pyramid.com was registered by Pyramid Technology Corp., by ex-Hewlett-Packard employees, who went on to build minicomputers (“supermicrocomputers”) based on RISC designs and formed the company in 1981. The company was sold to Siemens in 1995.
Eventually, Siemens appears to have sold the domain to a British computer sales company, operating from Pyramid.co.uk. The latter still uses “pyramid.com” as their corporate link on LinkedIn.
In geometry, a pyramid is a polyhedron formed by connecting a polygonal base and a point, called the apex. Each base edge and apex form a triangle, called a lateral face. It is a conic solid with polygonal base.
