Stellantis is a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation formed from the merger of the Italian–American conglomerate Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Stellantis is the world’s fourth-largest automaker by sales, behind Toyota, Volkswagen Group, and the Hyundai Motor Group.
A recent announcement by Stellantis points to a remarkable achievement in car software development. Using Amazon cloud’s computing power and BlackBerry technology, Stellantis has developed a “virtual cockpit” which is used to create and test new versions of car controls and systems in a day, instead of months!
According to Reuters, Stellantis said that it can now create “realistic virtual versions of car controls and systems, making them behave just like they would in a real car, but without needing to change the main software that runs them” taking months of development time down to 24 hours in some cases.
This amazing creation of the Stellantis virtual cockpit, should be fun news for domain investor, Rick Schwartz. The Domain King owns the domain VirtualCockpit.com, which was registered in 1998, at a time when the term “virtual” was hot!
It seems that the Domain King is in the driver’s seat, or should we say, in the virtual cockpit and can leverage a truly massive domain sale of the domain to Stellantis! 🙂
