Rick Schwartz broke the news yesterday that the domain name Power.com will be on the auction block during TRAFFIC in Ft. Lauderdale.
West Coast based Oversee, organizers of the Domainfest domain event would not sit with crossed arms, obviously.
Earlier today, there was an announcement that a similar domain will be auctioned during the upcoming Domainfest conference auction. The domain is being brokered by Ebonics Domains, a company in Palo Alto, California.
“We put some thought to it and it turns out that the best domain name to counter TRAFFIC’s auction would be Powa.com”, said Frank Borsscz of Oversee.
“We will bring the strength and imagination necessary to make Domainfest a great event and Powa.com will give domainers the incentive they need”, he added.
Powa is slang or “ebonics” for “power”; later today Oversee released a short press release, both in English and Ebonics, the latter of which read:
“Word. We’s put some thought ta it an’ it turns out dat da bomb domain name ta counter TRAFFIC’s auction would be Powa.com. We’s will bring da strengf an’ imagination necessary ta make Domainfest uh great event an’ Powa.com will give domainers da incentive dey need, yo.”
The dual press release is a first in order to address the increasing number of former welfare recipients that desire to tackle domaining.

Wow. That’s harsh!
Tom – As Rick Schwartz said, there is nothing to fear other than our own shadows and stupidity, yo.
