Music streaming service Grooveshark may have shut down less than a week ago, after a settlement for copyright infringement, but someone has relaunched the service on a dot .IO domain.
Dot .IO is popular with hackers and technology buffs alike, and is operated by the Indian Ocean territory. Apparently, music pirates are now also using it.
With servers in Ukraine, the domain Grooveshark.IO claims to offer about 90% of the original Grooveshark.com music content. The content is streamed over reverse proxy providers, Cloudflare. The domain appears to have been registered on May 2nd.
Despite having a page for copyright holders, it’s certain that the disclaimer is there for diversion purposes.
How long will this new mass copyright violation last?
