In July, we shared an owner’s plea about the theft of a valuable domain portfolio that included 002.com; the domains were moved from eNom to GoDaddy.
The domains are now back in their legitimate owner’s possession, according to an update that they relayed via a friend:
“We caught the thief and pushed him returned the domains. But ENOM didn’t help on site at all.”
According to eNom, the transfer was deemed “legitimate“; a reference to the fact that the thief assumed control of the owner’s account and moved the domains away.
This is great news, and we will publish more details on how the owner managed to reclaim the stolen domain names, as we receive them.
If your domain name was stolen, here’s a quick guide, if you want to raise awareness about the theft to the media.
Update 9/18/2014: The theft was tackled so quickly because the thief was an acquaintance of the owner. That’s all the details that the owner provided at this time.

That’s great to hear, seems the registries need to become more proactive on these matters
