Apparently, someone got rather pissed off at DomainGang, after yesterday’s posts and launched a DDoS attack on the server earlier today.
Fortunately, our hosting provider responded quickly and shielded off the attackers in well under an hour.
Still, we are perplexed about who was the perpetrator:
- The Nigerian 419 scammers? They are too simple-minded for something so complex.
- Competitors of Carpathia Hosting? Web hosts can’t take such a risk.
- A great-grandmother upset about our Titanic revelation? She’s probably dead by now.
- Self-styled anarchists at NTUA? They’re busy sipping frappe and playing backgammon.
- Register.com programmers? Unlikely, they helped us recover stolen domains in the past.
Whoever that was, they were blocked off and spawned this editorial as well. Is it Friday yet?
