Apple announced today the availability of CarPlay, a technology aimed at the automotive industry.
Arriving on select cars in 2014, CarPlay interfaces with a car’s built-in displays to deliver audiovisual interaction with your iPhone and its apps.
Car manufactures that will introduce CarPlay this year include Volvo, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota and many more.
That being said, Apple has not secured CarPlay.com, a domain currently parked at GoDaddy. CarPlay.com was registered in 2000, according to DomainTools.
Apple applied for the “CarPlay” trademark at the USPTO, on November 23rd, 2013.
With CarPlay.com being so much older, there’s a strong chance that its owner is sitting on a pile of cash right now!
