There is no doubt that gTLD domain registrations will gain momentum, once they receive some widespread media attention.
It seems that the domain registries so far have been focusing on streamlining the process of launching and supporting gTLDs; there is currently very little activity to raise public awareness.
Domain gTLDs are here to stay.
This does not mean that the majority of gTLD registrations are by domain investors – far from that – but the big crowds aren’t yet aware of what’s available out there.
