Domainer complains about DomainTools ads
In case you haven’t noticed, DomainTools – Golden Sponsor of DomainGang – rolled out a trio of new banner ads exclusive to our publication, yesterday.
DomainTools – the top WHOIS tool for domains – is known for its creative advertising; here at DomainGang we support anything creative, different and visually stimulating.
Today we received this email from an angry domainer who appears to be upset by the latest DomainTools banners:
“What is wrong with you people? The one with the Astronaut says ‘Ready for blast off’. When I clicked on it, I wasn’t taken to the NASA web site as expected, but was offered a Pro membership! Strike number one!”
Our very peculiar reader continues:
“The banner with the stacked Ice Cream cone, what a bunch of baloney! I thought I’d get a FREE ice cream now that it’s 104 degrees here in Chicago, and all I got was more data and more research. You got to be kidding me! Strike #2.”
And finally, he lashes out:
“But the straw that broke the camel’s back is the banner with the huge, stacked Cheeseburger with onions, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Do you know what that imagery does to a hungry man??? I had to go out and buy a McDonald’s, a Wendy’s and one Burger King burger in order to build this monster. No sir, that’s strike #3 from DomainTools! Ridiculous! Take those banners down!!!”
Apparently, our reader suffers from some condition that needs urgent psychiatric evaluation, along with an infusion of humor. But thank God it’s Friday!
