In our “who applied for which gTLD” series, we’ve covered Frank Schilling’s Uniregistry and Paul Stahura’s Donuts, Inc.
Let’s take a look at another big gTLD applicant, the almighty Google.
With 101 gTLDs applied for, Google spent a surprisingly conservative $18,685,000 at the going rate of $185k per application.
Considering how Google stock is priced at $1,027 per share currently, that’s like buying 18,193 Google shares! 😀
Google ranks in position #2 among gTLD applicants, behind Donuts, Inc.
While Google applied for some obvious gTLDs, such as .GOOGLE, .CHROME, .YOUTUBE and .ANDROID, they also went after some gTLDs that will be fought tooth and nail among other applicants, such as .BOOK, .BABY and .MUSIC.
Here’s the full list of gTLDs that Google has applied for. Which ones will pass the test?
