“Jihadi John” is the nickname given by the media to the ISIS terrorist that gruesomely killed American Journalist James Foley.
It is not known who coined the name, perhaps as a form of alliteration and to emphasize that the terrorist had a British accent in the released execution video.
Regardless, the term “Jihadi John” began to trend as soon as British counter-terrorist units zeroed down on several potential suspects; one of them is rapper Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, according to British tabloids.
We checked the domain name JihadiJohn.com yesterday and it was still available, and continued monitoring it.
As we do not condone the registration of domain names related to disasters or other violent acts, it became apparent that whoever would eventually register the domain didn’t ascribe to the same principles.
Sure enough, JihadiJohn.com has now been registered by a British individual, according to DomainTools. The domain is parked at GoDaddy, currently.
In related news, the domain name BostonBomber.com dropped in July, only to be reclaimed by Huge Domains, that are asking $3,095 for it. Really?
