There were plenty of great performances last night at The Voice; the popular music competition series where young, aspiring singers reach out to impress established judges – all while singing behind their backs.
One such great performance was made by Melissa Jimenez, a talented and breathtakingly beautiful lady. She managed to “turn” the chairs of both Shakira and Usher; the latter lost his jaw somewhere between the chairs!
The gregarious Melissa Jimenez reached out to Shakira first in Spanish, who’s Colombian; soon after, she revealed that she’s half Mexican, half Greek, reinforcing that with a joyful “Opa!”
Wow.

Shakira and Melissa Jimenez carried on a short conversation in flawless Greek, with Shakira saying “Thank you!” and Melissa Jimenez responding with a “Thank you very much!”
In the end, Melissa Jimenez chose Usher as her singing mentor – nicely played there, Melissa – bypassing Shakira.
But Melissa Jimenez, who refers to herself as a “Greexican”, isn’t just a talented, beautiful Mexican Greek; she’s also intelligent, having secured her domain name, MelissaJimenez.com in 2005. Many aspiring artists fail to do so, ending up losing their .com to cybersquatting “fans” once they become relatively famous.
