Verisign : 300 millionth registered domain is a ‘generic viagra’ .com

Verisign announced the registration of its 300 millionth domain name early Saturday morning.

Don't worry about earthquakes, Verisign keeps the Internet running like a Swiss clock.

Verisign has now 300 million domains.

The splendid news follows a recent report by Verisign depicting the voracious appetite of Chinese domain investors for long numeric domains; more than 4 million new numerics were registered in Q3 of 2015.

Lucky domainer number 300,000,000 is Boris Illievitch Ulianov from Ukraine; the pharmaceutical copycat entrepreneur specializes in generic viagra and cialis pills, sold over the Internet.

Verisign intends to send Ulianov a gold plate with the domain engraved: Viagra-Pillules-Buy-Fresh.com. There is also a chance the domain will be forcibly deleted.

Thousands of entrepreneurs and domain investors alike register, trade and often delete dot .com domain names every year.

Currently, there is no concrete data on actual use of .com domains by serious entrepreneurs, as compared to PPC monetization junkies, cybersquatters and pharma fraud enablers.

The 300 million milestone places more pressure on the young shoulders of Daniel Negari, founder and CEO of dot .XYZ, who will have to restart the successfully tested free .XYZ domain initiative with Network Solutions in order to catch up.
