Verisign releases full printed list of 252 million domains

Don't worry about earthquakes, Verisign keeps the Internet running like a Swiss clock.

Verisign now offers the full domain list in print.

Verisign, the keepers of the .com and .net around the global Internet, have released supporting documentation regarding the current domain totals.

The printed list comes in 125 binders, containing a total of 252,049,152 domain names.

“Doing it the old fashioned way, in print, is something that many Fortune 500 executives appreciate,” said Fanny Day of Verisign.

“We often get asked to provide printouts of WHOIS information to be included in corporate reports and most companies employ chief executive officers that despise Adobe products,” added Day.

By printing the entire list of domain registrations, Verisign is entering the secondary meta-data domain market.

“We plan to offer these binders of domains to anyone willing to pay for the information in printed format,” said Fanny Day.

“A lot of people don’t appreciate digital format and want beautiful, monogrammed, hard-covered volumes to display at their offices,” added Day, pointing at an entire wall covered with the printed material.

The full list will be updated “on demand“; as soon as an opulent company executive orders the printed list, it will be created in four days’ time.

Verisign refused to disclose the exact pricing for the printed list of all registered domain names; it is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars plus the cost of paper.
