YouTube “monkey error” in rare demonstration of technical glitch

Directnic

YouTube appears to be having issues today, and in a rare demonstration of creative error reporting, it displays a monkey with a hammer.

The message 500 Internal Server Error appears when things break in the server software, such as a misconfiguration of the Apache server.

Other reasons for this “monkey error” might include: lack of server space, inability to crack down on cat videos, or the latest video clip by SO TIRI.

Still, instead of showing a blank error message, the YouTube lander displays a monkey graphic with a lengthy error code, as seen below.

The glitch appears to be location related, as not everyone appears to be having the issue right now.
