.XXX hits the 25 million milestone!
The numbers are out and they are absolutely staggering!
The Dot .XXX Registry managed to complete 24,977,902 domain registrations of .XXX domains in half a day!
“Not even dot .com seems to be an obstacle now,” said Hugh Joargun of the ICM Registry. “We are absolutely thrilled, we are having a margarita party, getting punch drunk as we speak!”
The incredible feat of achieving almost 25 million domain registrations in just a few hours comes as no surprise.
According to the ICM Registry data, there are four large groups of registrants:
- Domain investors that buy any keyword in any TLD
- Domain speculators that buy adult keywords in some TLDs
- Domain flippers that buy cheap stuff to sell with a $10 profit margin on eBay
- Frank Schilling who bought Rumcakes.xxx for seven figures.
It seems that all these groups worked together to create the perfect .XXX storm today, achieving this extraordinary feat for the ICM Registry.
We seriously don’t want to guess how many million .XXX domains will be in existence tomorrow afternoon! 😀
