.XXX domains are getting bigger visibility on Google.
The number of .XXX domains registered has increased since the ICM Registry launched the adult gTLD a little over a month ago.
There are now 1,810,000 Google results coming from .XXX domain names which shows increased interest in perusing .XXX content.
According to top domain research tool, ZFBot, the number of .XXX domain names currently registered stands at 108,439.
In comparison, there are 99,583,600 .COM domains, 143,910,66 .NET domains and .ORG stands at 9,696,402.

I suspect that most of those regs are defensive.

Ms Domainer – I don’t believe so. The defensive registrations made up less than 5% according to ICM R.
It’s quite a bit of domain names sold despite the fact that they cost $100 each and the market is limited to chose a good names. Will see how many of them will be dropped next year, but I think it will be similar to .co numbers.
