Sergei Putanov: Cheese and crackers!

Sergei Putanov in better days.

For the first time in a decade, the legendary Russian billionaire domain investor, Sergei Putanov, acknowledged that there is a financial crisis in the domain industry.

“Had meeting with chief financial officer increase profit and thing are not good,” said Sergei Putanov to our correspondent, Nikolai Domienenko.

“Can’t eat caviar, or Canadian lobster, what do, crisis everywhere!” exclaimed the Russian mogul.

Sergei Putanov, regarded as one of the best minds in the former Soviet Union, has been selling his properties with increased intensity. Once known for his refusal to sell any domains, Sergei Putanov’s investment outfit, Russian Bear Investments, has been reaching out to investors that might want his domain names.

“Right time sell, is yesterday. For now cheese and crackers in breakfast and only one Ukraine prostitute every Friday evening”, said the illustrious billionaire. “Advice to newcomer domainers, stay out of my business assholes or I break leg. Invested 2.5 billion dollar in domain industry, now time get back my money, no idea about gTLD future.” added Putanov.

With TRAFFIC in Ft. Lauderdale approaching fast, it is definitely a warning about the domain industry’s inability to reach out to the technology sector and tap into its resources. Meanwhile, Sergei Putanov remains as domaining’s sole canary in the coalmines, observing the downwards spiral of an once flourishing industry.
