Sedo cannot be reached currently at its support phone numbers.
A recorded message greets callers with a “have a safe holiday” statement, something that confused us, naturally.
Most working Americans don’t celebrate anything particular today, so here’s a look at what might be going on.
September 14th is listed as:
- Cream-Filled Donut Day
- Eat a Hoagie Day
- Pet Memorial Day
- National Anthem Day
Surely, it can’t be any of the above, although we’d love to have a ‘cream-filled donut‘ holiday any given day! 😀
However, on Monday, September 17th we celebrate Constitution Day in the US.
According to Wikipedia:
“Constitution Day (or Citizenship Day) is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed on September 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787.”
So there you have it.
Sedo is closed today – and on Monday – due to our Founding Fathers signing that important piece of paper, so hold onto your seats and try not to have a virtual wedgie until Tuesday morning.
huh?? Sedo the German market place for domain and website sales?— not sure why they’d celebrate another countries constitution.
I’d be inclined to think more in the lines of one of these:
Tag der Deutschen Einheit (German Unity Day)
Reformationstag (Reformation Day)
Buß- und Bettag (Day of Repentance and Prayer)
It’s either that or the annual Chevy Chase Slap’n’Punch rolling cheese and free flat beer festival the Germans celebrate each year! 😉
jayjay – None of these German holidays are today. But I will have ein Deutsche Bier bitte!
The web is24/7/365. Any time you are unavailable, no matter what the reason, the competition is moving on by. Maybe they change to sedate.com. 🙂
DoktorThomas – Well said.
Well, the Germans have a cream-filled doughnut called the “berliner,” so maybe there’s a connection there. Schmeckt gut. 🙂
Seems like a good place to work.
