Sedo MLS partnered with GoDaddy TDNAM a while back; while one could opt out of using Sedo MLS, it’s now being force-fed.
Simply speaking, all “make an offer” domains are now listed on TDNAM, and GoDaddy enjoys the local traffic to its marketplace, all while Sedo is confident this will lead to an increase in the volume of sales.
The truth is, that the volume of sub-$500 sales will increase, while high end sales that might have resulted in a higher total revenue via a proper offer/counter-offer at Sedo, won’t happen.
The TDNAM interface does not allow the exchange of comments, and thus the communication between the two parties is completely muted.
GoDaddy also seems to not like your adult domain names, and they don’t get listed, in case you’re wondering.
There is one simple reason why this type of negotiation does not work well, and in the long run it can hurt Sedo:
One can bid on their own domains, placing an offer at TDNAM – for any amount – and then send it to auction at Sedo, reeling in potential victims in a shilled bidding war!
Not only that, but the buyer information that the Sedo seller sees, is not truly that of a buyer, but a fixed GoDaddy profile that displays the following information:
It’s imperative that Sedo fixes this anomaly asap, and should also give the ability to all Sedo account holders to remove their domains from the SedoMLS platform.
Lucius,
they can’t fix anything. It is GoDaddy’s system that has all the problems.
The buyer profile will still be what you see now.
Only thing they can do is have an opt option out as you said.
I have many problems with GD’s platform.
I will post an article tomorrow probably.
i think what you’re trying to say is that godaddy sucks. agreed… let’s move on.
Godaddy sucks
SEdo sucks
Welcome to the world where everyone and everything suck…except me
Please live life with suck so you don’t get suck.
I personally don’t care if it’s GoDaddy’s “fault” or not. This is additional proof that the whole SedoMLS/TDNAM agreement is just a rushed clusterphuck.
1. Sedo account holders: not consulted and cannot be excluded.
2. Partial move of one’s portfolio (no adult domains.)
3. No communication between buyer/seller is allowed.
4. Fake buyer profile – the same for every TDNAM initiated offer.
5. One can bid on their own domains as buyer/seller cannot be cross-checked.
6. Once a negotiation is canceled by the seller, buyer receives no notification at TDNAM.
Wow. Simply wow.
Who are you to be consulted?
Companies are created by people who got bad service.

Nicely spotted Lucius – I’ve had low-ball $60 offers for 4 good generic domains today from the “Sedo community member since: December 2011” entity that I thought was the same person.
I wish sedo offered sellers a ‘Cancel negotiation’ button immediately without having to first make a counter-offer. In the absence of this I just ignore the low-ball offers.
I have asked my sedo account manager to set the minimum offer for all my domains to $600 instead of the default $60. this means I only see an offer if someone is prepared to pay a minimum of $600.
