Not even four months after it was sold by B52 Media, the domain name e.co is about to change hands once again, in a blockbuster, record-breaking deal – delighting the .CO Registry even further.
The seller, Chinese investor Xing Xiang Xuong, is reputedly working on signing the contracted sale with oil giant, BP.
“British Petroleum has contributed immensely to the improvement of air, water and land quality, as affected by oil drilling in the past 25 years,” said British Petroleum VP of operations, Olaf Kronen.
“With the acquisition of e.co and the imminent creation of an informational portal on the ecological contribution of British Petroleum, we are shifting the paradigm of how oil research companies deal with the environmental concerns of the public,” added Kronen.
The upcoming sale of e.co is rumored to be in the $45 – $65 million range, making it the most expensive domain ever sold!
Keep your eyes on e.co in the coming months as British Petroleum expands on its ecological content, providing useful information on why the use of crude oil is good for you, and the environment.
