The domain name CloudApp.com needed very little introduction, when it was placed on auction at Sedo – without a reserve.
“Cloud app” is a term that would appeal to cloud hosting companies, cloud storage services, network storage or general software and applications.
The Sedo auction has now ended, and CloudApp.com was sold for $10,100 dollars, after seven days of bidding completed today.
It took 14 bidders to fight for this great domain; top bidders 13 and 14 started their face-off at the $8k range.
Microsoft owns the .net but the page does not resolve; CloudApps.com is a full services company, headquartered in the UK and a potential buyer.
Congratulations to the seller and the buyer of CloudApp.com.
A solid domain. Honestly, the buyer got off easy, since I’d consider it to be worth more than they paid.
i bought CloudApp.com for $24k and resold it for a quick loss at $15k.
Microsoft owns the .net and has an alexa ranking at 5625…all dead traffic.
Cloudapp.com was getting 100 to 150 visitors per day and was making $1 to $2 per day from parking…but all dead traffic mostly from .net
i bought it because of this traffic it was getting…but found out it was dead traffic.
it’s a great domain if u plan on developing…otherwise it’s worthless
good luck to the new sucker…i mean owner
@ Anunt, Thanx for volunteering bit of history – interesting! 🙂
