It’s finally redemption and acknowledgement of value for the much-hammered gTLD domain, XYZ.
After months of negotiations with publisher Larry Flynt, the domain name Boobs.XYZ was sold.
The transaction is in the low seven figure range and it’s bound by an NDA, something that will make the task of confirming the sale rather difficult.
“I cannot confirm nor deny that Boobs.XYZ got sold,” said Josh Habibi of the XYZ Registry.
“If it did get sold, it didn’t go for free; unlike Network Solutions, we kept the best domains for ourselves, we don’t undervalue our prime assets by giving them to random .com owners,” added Habibi.
Larry Flynt Enterprises declined to comment, citing corporate privacy agreements. Still, a non-confirmation is a positive indication, whereas a denial is just that.
Boobs.XYZ thus becomes the first non-XXX gTLD domain to sell for at least a million dollars – a clear indication that pornography is the primary focus of any generation, be it X, Y or Z.
