The registration of Walmart.Horse was an alleged art experiment that challenged a famous trademark, that of WalMart.
Initially, its registrant – Jeph Jacques – fought gallantly to retain the domain and minimalist web site live, displaying a composition depicting a horse in front of a WalMart store.
Eventually, he gave up arguing with the WalMart lawyers, apparently; the case was settled outside of the UDRP process, as this search shows.
Minds+Machines operates dot .Horse; if you’re a fan of the bizarre, you can visit TaylorSwift.Horse – for now.
But why isn’t the horse ‘dark’? 🙂
