When it’s time to renew his domains, Jimmy Henry Bollux sighs, then closes the reminder email.

To avoid losing his most precious domain assets, Bollux pays a friend $25 dollars a month to remind him when 30 days have passed since expiration.

Many times, he finds great domain names at Flippa with hours left on the auction; he mumbles about how easy it’d be to win them, then shuts down the web browser, feeling unmotivated.

He is not alone in this type of slothful, negative behavior.

Jimmy Henry Bollux is one of many domain investors that are clearly suffering from lazy domainer syndrome, or LDS.

“I can’t get motivated. I am always thinking my domains aren’t worthy. I see a UDRP behind every domain I own, it’s not easy to invest in domains under this constant pressure. Sometimes I ponder domain suicide, like, deleting all of my domains and becoming a traveling shoe salesman,” says Jimmy Henry Bollux.

With competition at domain auction venues such as Flippa rising fast, Bollux needs to up his game fast.

“We observe a lot of lazy domainers hovering around domain auctions and not bidding,” says Flippa manager, Keith O’McReidy.

“There are plenty of motivated bidders, but a lot of guys seem to have this condition, and we want to help,” adds O’McReidy.

Flippa is setting up several domain motivation seminars this summer; some will offer special courses designed for the slothful and the lazy, others will be tailored for domainers without any investor self-esteem.

“The bottom line is that most domainers have potential that they haven’t yet discovered, and Flippa is committed to assist our community, it’s what we do best,” says Keith O’McReidy.

Jimmy Henry Bollux is optimistic, but worried that he might turn into a hyper-active, busy-brain domainer.

And that, might be a good thing.

  1. Domains will sell at Flippa. They sell for $1.00 Lots of time posting and no action. That is why they are lazy. $1.00 bids keep a person lazy.

  2. Now for the buyers, it has to be a great place to buy~ Great deals, if the domainer does not have a reserve.
